Timothy Alder
Growing up with family in the industry, Tim has always had a knack and passion for construction. With over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, he has watched Auckland grow, building and renovating 100’s of Kiwi homes in and out of the Auckland area. Tim is a skilled problem solver with vast building knowledge and will personally work on your project with you.

Alder Homes Ltd is a family-owned and operated company. We pride ourselves in crafting well built, quality Kiwi homes. We have a love for the job and are here to help our clients with a smooth-running project every time.
As well as building a vast range of new homes, from Architecturally designed through to budget/infill town housing, we also complete large renovations and extensions, full reclads, manage total home makeovers and large outdoor entertaining areas. We are an Auckland based company and service in and around the greater Auckland area.

At Alder Homes, we are committed to New Zealand based training and ongoing learning to ensure our staff has knowledge that is based on our unique environment and regulations.
In 2003 Tim gained his National certificate in Carpentry from BCITO, New Zealand’s largest provider of construction trade apprenticeships.
- Licensed Building Practioner (LBP)
Critical building work that involves the building’s structure, weather tightness and design of fire safety systems is ‘restricted building work’ (RBW). Because this work is so important, it’s only allowed to be completed by a licensed building practitioner (LBPs).
Licensed Building Practitioners (LBPs) are assessed before getting a licence, builders must have adequate qualifications, upskill and keep up to date with changing industry practices and regulations in order to continue to be licensed.
A licensed building practitioner (LBP) can be identified by producing their photo ID licence card and by checking their details against the public register.
- New Zealand Certified Builder (NZCB)
Alder Homes is a proud member of NZCB. Unlike other builder associations, NZCB has rigorous entry criteria. The minimum entry requirement for all members is a recognized industry trade qualification. Builder’s track records are also closely assessed and monitored. NZCB membership is proof of a demonstrated history of stability and success.
Certified Builders are also subject to ongoing development requirement. Trained in the latest building techniques, we are kept up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory requirements.
